Concert Reaction:

Staff Writer Jay Hartwell of the Honolulu Advertiser wrote a favorable review of the Destroyer’s 50-50 concert at the Wave Waikiki:

“‘We’re going to rock like we’ve never rocked before,’ Thorogood told the audience, and the man spoke the truth.

You could tell Thorogood loves this music.  Throughout the show he was high-stepping and duck walking across the stage or wading into the crowd, anointing people with the peghead of this guitar.”

Other Notes: The CD tray inlay for the album George Thorogood & the Destroyers Anthology (Capitol Records, 2000) shows a sepia tone montage of backstage passes from the 50-50 tour, including one from the Waikiki show (Top-left of photo).
